The fresh family is, in reality, a superfamily composed of three fragrance families that possess different fresh characteristics. The most prominent is the citrus family—or Hespéridés in French. The name comes from Greek mythology, referencing the Hesperides who guarded the golden apple—believed to be an orange. This citrus family includes fragrances with dominant citrus notes.
